Things to Do in Bathurst: Doucet Hennessy House

Doucet Hennessy House is one of the oldest permanently occupied homes in Bathurst.

Doucet Hennessy House is one of the oldest permanently occupied homes in Bathurst. The current house, which still exists today, was determined to have been built in 1858 through a scientific analysis of wood samples undertaken by scientists at Mount Allison University. They also found that the wooden floors and foundation contained reutilized wood dating back to 1808 and 1811.

We invite you to get involved and help us build the Doucet-Hennessy House Association so that we can achieve our goal of restoring the house and ensure that this landmark of Bathurst is architectural and cultural history is made available to those who want to see it.
